OSM Township operates under an Integrated Accessible Customer Service Standards (IASR) Policy, to aid in ensuring that programs, services, and facilities within the municipality are barrier-free for residents and visitors.
As required by the regulations of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, OSM Township recognizes and appreciates that persons with disabilities will be able to access goods and information in a manner consistent with the principles of independence, dignity, integration and equality.
Accessible Engagement Resources are available through the Ontario Municipal Social Services Association.
Accessibility Information & Resources
The Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan requires Members of Council and all employees to complete accessibility training within 30 days of appointment/hiring.
Integrated Accessible Standards Regulation (IASR)
(time required approximately 20 minutes/module)
- Module 1 General Requirements
General Requirements, Information and Communication Module and the Ontario Human Rights Code Module must be completed by everyone. - Module 2 Information and Communication
- Module 3 Employment
Employment training module must be completed by everyone involved in human resources and/or hiring of staff. - Module 4 Design of Public Spaces
Design of Public Spaces must be completed by everyone who is recommending or involved in the designing, building or making changes to trails, beach access routes, outdoor play spaces or any exterior paths of travel.
Upon completion of the required training modules, a Confirmation of Training form shall be completed and submitted to the Clerk.
